Brown & Brown of Detroit Teammates Support Charities

Todd Piersol, Executive Vice President, is proud to announce that Brown & Brown of Detroit teammates raised $1520.00 for the Greater Michigan Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association during the office’s third quarter Blue Jean Day fundraiser. Every Friday, the office’s 60+ employees have the option of wearing blue jeans to work, in exchange for a $5 donation to the non-profit of the quarter.

The Association’s mission is to eliminate Alzheimer’s disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health. The Greater Michigan Chapter was founded in 1981. Services are available in 60 counties to more than 140,000 individuals and their families who have Alzheimer’s disease and other related dementias.

For the fourth and final quarter of 2016, Brown & Brown of Detroit has chosen to raise money for the Alex M. Mackmin Memorial Fund, a permanent endowment at the Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan. Grants from the fund will be used to assist families who have lost children. The fund will also support youth athletics in southeast Michigan.

Brown & Brown of Detroit is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Brown & Brown Insurance, the sixth largest insurance intermediary in the United States. Located in Sterling Heights, this office is the largest independent insurance agency in Macomb County.
