Business Attraction Hosts CAAM Delegation, Continues to Link Chinese and Michigan Auto Industries

The Chamber’s Business Attraction team recently hosted delegates from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) for the first time. The delegation was led by CAAM’s Secretary General Dong Yang and consisted of more than 20 Chinese automotive suppliers exploring investment and partnership opportunities in the Detroit region.

The three-day visit by CAAM stemmed from the Business Attraction team’s outreach efforts during an April trade mission to the Beijing Auto Show. It supported the Chamber’s long-term goal of building a relationship with CAAM and to facilitate communications and partnerships between the Chinese and Michigan automotive industries.

As a next step, the Business Attraction team plans to participate in the 2015 China Auto Forum and attend Automechanika Shanghai this December, which will be good opportunities to engage the larger Chinese auto supplier community.
