| THE DETROIT REGIONAL CHAMBER, BUSINESS COMMUNITY AND GOVERNOR SUPPORT THE NEW INTERNATIONAL TRADE CROSSING |
|
DETROIT, February 18, 2011 -- Today, the Detroit Regional Chamber issued the following statement in response to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce release on border crossing issue: "While the Detroit Regional Chamber has a long standing relationship with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and we agree on many issues, we strongly part company on this issue. The fact is a majority of Michigan's business community, who are members of not just the Detroit Regional Chamber but also the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, including the major automakers, are unified in their support for the New International Trade Crossing (NITC) and stand with Governor Snyder, (R-MI) on this critical issue for Michigan's' future," stated, Sandy K. Baruah, president and chief executive officer of the Detroit Regional Chamber. Please see attached list of supporters of the NITC. About the Detroit Regional Chamber # # #
