David Maraniss is an associate editor at The Washington Post and best-selling author of the book, “Once in a Great City: A Detroit Story,” which chronicles Detroit’s glory days of the 1960s. In addition, he is a three-time Pulitzer Prize finalist and a 1993 recipient for his coverage of then-presidential candidate Bill Clinton. In addition, he was part of The Washington Post team that won the Pulitzer in 2008 for the newspaper’s coverage of the Virginia Tech campus shooting. Maraniss is the author of six best-selling books and a recipient of numerous journalism awards including the George Polk Award and the Dirksen Prize for Congressional Reporting.
