DETROIT, MI – Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan joins the list of speakers at the 2014 Mackinac Policy Conference, the Detroit Regional Chamber announced Wednesday. The policy conference will be held May 27-30 at the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island.

Duggan joins speakers such as writer Malcolm Gladwell, Gallup CEO Jim Clifton and News Corporation Education Division CEO Joel Klein. Duggan’s session, slated for Wednesday, May 28, will focus on entrepreneurship, education and impact, the Chamber said.

The annual, three-day Mackinac Policy Conference brings together business leaders, politicians and thought-leaders to discuss and shape business policy. It has been meeting since 1981.

The DRC says the goal of the 2014 conference is to create a more globally competitive and financially attractive business environment in Michigan through three pillars: entrepreneurship, education and impact. It expects about 1,500 attendees.
