Donald WelchDon Welch is the Chief Information Security Officer for the University of Michigan including the three campuses and Health System.  Previously he was the CEO of Merit Network and during that time they added a full portfolio of IT services, created the internationally recognized Michigan Cyber Range and built 2400 miles of fiber optic cable through ARRA Broadband grants. Before starting his civilian career he served in the Army, retiring as a Colonel. Welch also served as the chief information officer and professor of Computer Science at West Point.
