Dutch Mobility, Innovation and Technology on Full Display at Tech Showcase

Destination Detroit and MICHauto collaborated to host a delegation of Dutch officials and mobility leaders on Nov. 1 at the Madison Building in downtown Detroit. The delegation, which consisted of 25 representatives from Dutch companies, met with MICHauto investors and members in the 11-county Destination Detroit partnership to discuss potential future collaborative opportunities in the mobility and technology industries.

The Tech Showcase featured five presentations from leading Dutch companies that presented their strategies to further the automobility industry and their current business needs. Presenters included:

Maurice Geraets, Board Member, NXP Semiconductors
Ruben Kragten, Global Sales and Project Manager, V-tron BV
Theodorus Thuis, Managing Director, Innovation, Q-Park NV
Evert-Jeen van der Meer, Industry Director, Automotive, Aon Risk Solutions Netherlands
Jos van Kleef, CEO, Goudappel Groep

All five presentations featured cutting-edge global technology such as cooperative driving projects, smart mobility initiatives and telemetric innovations. Following the presentations, MICHauto Executive Director Glenn Stevens moderated a panel discussion with the five Dutch delegates to dig deeper into the companies’ mobility environment and advantages, as well as the challenges Dutch companies face.

The Dutch Tech Showcase provided a glimpse into the future of mobility, but what will automotive industry careers look like in 5 years? 10 years? 20 years? Find out at the MICHauto Summit.

The Dutch Tech Showcase is the first in a new quarterly series being called Mobility Technology Showcases, in which Destination Detroit will host the world’s most advanced mobility countries and regions to visit Detroit to share their expertise, exchange ideas and build partnerships aimed at driving forward the future mobility.
