Jack Bergman

U.S. Representative (R-MI 1)

Congressman Jack Bergman is a representative for the first district of Michigan. He serves on the House Armed Services Committee and the Veterans’ Affairs Committee.

Prior to taking office in January of 2017, Congressman Bergman was a small business owner, commercial airline pilot for 22 years, and a United States Marine Corps officer. Upon graduation from Gustavus Adolphus College, he was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the Marine Corps. In 2005, Congressman Bergman assumed command of Marine Forces Reserve/Marine Forces North, and in 2009 retired from the Marine Corps at the rank of Lieutenant General. He is the highest-ranking combat Veteran ever elected to Congress.

He and his wife Cindy live in Watersmeet, MI and have eight grandchildren.
