Rakolta, John JrJohn Rakolta Jr. is chairman and CEO of Walbridge, a privately-held construction company founded in Detroit in 1916. Rakolta joined the company in 1971 as an estimator and held positions of increasing responsibility. He was named president in 1979, and succeeded his father as chairman and CEO in 1993.

In 2014, Walbridge was ranked the 42nd largest contractor in the United States by the Engineering News-Record. The company operates offices in North America, South America and the Middle East.

Rakolta previously served as chairman of New Detroit, a coalition of civil rights and advocacy groups. He serves as a director of the Downtown Detroit Partnership, Business Leaders for Michigan and Michigan Economic Development Corp.
