MICHauto Hosts Discover AutoMobility at Washtenaw Community College

On March 5, MICHauto took its Discover AutoMobility series to Washtenaw Community College where students had the opportunity to hear from Ford Motor Company’s Jon Coleman, fleet sustainability and technology manager.

Students also heard from Alexandrea Scully, intern government affairs, Magna and Kali Wealch, student at Washtenaw Community College, during a panel discussion where they discussed their careers, education paths, internships and offered an insider perspective on working within the automotive industry.

More than 25 students attended and networked with 10 automotive companies to discuss exciting career opportunities in the industry.

Washtenaw Community College is leading the way in preparing the next generation of talent for careers in automotive and mobility through its Advanced Transportation Center, creating an ideal partnership with MICHauto and their investors.

The Advanced Transportation Center provides student access to connected car research development due to its proximity to numerous other research and technology centers like Mcity. The Center also helps promote and prepare professionals and skilled laborers for numerous industries within the automotive industry. Students who attended Discover AutoMobility were able to tour the Center first hand and get an up-close look at its state-of-the-art laboratories and classrooms.
