MICHauto Reminds NAIAS Attendees Why “Michigan Is Auto”

Capitalizing on the 2014 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS), the MICHauto program utilized several means to remind the international media and roughly 800,000 visitors that Michigan is the global epicenter of the automotive industry.

MICHauto invested in a billboard on eastbound I-94 to promote $1.7 billion in automotive investment in 2013, and partnered with the Detroit People Mover to cover the COBO Center station with “Michigan is Auto” facts. The People Mover station in COBO Center experiences more foot traffic during NAIAS than any other station throughout the year.

Additionally, MICHauto distributed its Top 10 Card to nearly a dozen downtown Detroit hotels, who agreed to provide them to their guests upon check-in. The Top 10 card was also distributed to nearly 60 local media organizations, providing talking points for their coverage of the auto show.

Promoting Michigan’s automotive assets is a key pillar of MICHauto and the NAIAS provided an excellent platform to increase awareness of our state’s signature industry. For more information on MICHauto, click here.
