Mobility State Panel and Mackinac Moments Announced for the 2018 Mackinac Policy Conference

On Wednesday, May 30 during the 2018 Mackinac Policy Conference, the Mobility State: Perspectives on Policy and Regulation panel will explore how Michigan can establish a best-in-class regulatory environment for autonomous vehicle deployment, the barriers that have yet to be addressed, and the ensuing challenges for insurance, infrastructure and other key industries.

Panelists will include Pavan Agarwal, management committee member for Foley & Lardner LLP; Carla Bailo, president and CEO for the Center for Automotive Research; U.S. Sen. Gary Peters; and David Sampson, president and CEO for the Property Casualty Insurers Association of America. “Autoline” host John McElroy will moderate this panel.

This year’s Conference will also feature three Mackinac Moments. On Wednesday, May 30, Wayne County Executive Warren Evans will continue the conversation around the need for regional transit. On Thursday, May 31, Canadian Ambassador DavidMacNaughton will discuss the importance of the preservation of the North American Free Trade agreement in the morning. On Thursday afternoon Detroit Institute of Arts, President and CEO Salvador Salort-Pons will discuss the power of art in building trust in communities.
