B4B Connect Launches Redesigned, Socially Integrated Website

B4B Connect has announced the launch of its newly re-designed website, showcasing a socially integrated, mobile friendly layout. B4B Connect continues to be a powerful tool for small businesses statewide, serving as an interactive, informative and innovative resource for users to become more engaged in the small business community.

The site is focused on telling the Chamber story – promoting the benefits of chamber membership, and creating connections to issues, insights, and key players in the business community. Chamber to Host Bagels & Boards Breakfast, Dec. 5

Continuing its efforts to attract leaders to take a public service role in young peoples’ lives in Detroit, the Chamber is hosting its second Bagels & Boards Informational Breakfast from 8:30 to 10 a.m. on Thursday, December 5 to prepare people to serve on a charter school board. The event will be held at the Detroit Edison Early College of Excellence High School in Detroit.

Attendees will hear from current charter school leaders and board members, and learn how to become a decision-maker and agent for change in the growing effort to reform education within the Detroit community. For more information, click here or contact Dan Piepszowski.

Failure: Lab Detroit Event to Embrace the Positives of Failure

Failure: Lab Detroit is hosting an event from 6 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, November 21 that seeks to create a sense of openness around failure, instead of shunning it. Six speakers will share their experiences to help pave the way to eliminating the stigma around failure. Up to 50 Detroit Regional Chamber members can register for free online, using the ticket code ChamberGift.

The lineup of storytellers includes: Jimmy King, vice president of business development at Schechter Wealth Strategies; Diana Sieger, president of Grand Rapids Community Foundation; Andwele Gardner, Detroit singer-songwriter and record producer; Jessica Care Moore, poet and publisher; Charlie Wollborg, marketing strategist and creative director at Curve Detroit; and Marsha Music, writer and blogger.
