Michigan Bike Accident Lawyer Creates State Helmet Laws Graphic For Motorcyclists
Detroiter
Wednesday, 09 May 2012 12:19

Our Michigan bike accident lawyers of Buckfire & Buckfire, P.C. recently created a graphic on the state by state motorcycle helmet laws to visually display the helmet law requirements in every state. The idea behind the graphic was to aide bikers in their travels across Unites States.

Visit http://bit.ly/MIMotorcycleAccidentLawyers to view the “Motorcycle Helmet Law” Graphic.

The Motorcycle Helmet Law graphic is a map of the United States, with a color key that defines the helmet laws in each state. The
map is displayed on the back of biker’s black-distressed leather jacket. There are five different variations in motorcycle helmet requirements; including Free Choice (no helmet restrictions) to NO CHOICE (everyone riding a motorcycle must
wear a bike helmet).

Michigan currently passed a new helmet law, Senate Bill 291, which allows motorcyclists to choose to wear a helmet if they are at
least 21 years of age, carry additional insurance, and have passed a motorcycle safety course or have had their motorcycle endorsement for at least two years.  This is displayed on the graphic, as you will see Michigan labeled as a state with requirements of “21 and older
with Provisions.”

The Motorcycle Helmet Law graphic also shows which states have the highest fines and maximum jail time for violating their bike
helmet law. This information is uniquely displayed on the motorcycle’s rear-view mirrors. George is toughest on violators, with a $1,000 fine and 12 months of jail time, and Nevada comes in second, with a $1,000 fine and a maximum six months of jail time.

To learn more about the State by State helmet laws and to see the State by State Motorcycle Helmet Laws Graphic, visit http://bit.ly/MIMotorcycleAccidentLawyers. The motorcycle accident attorneys also make this graphic available on a plastic wallet card for easy reference during road trips.

Share this graphic with other bikers who may find this topic interesting or are planning on taking a road trip this summer by
embedding the graphic on your own site, emailing fellow motorcyclists, family, friends, motorcycle chapters and biker clubs,
etc.,  and sharing on all social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, and Google+.

This information is also offered on a FREE wallet card. Don’t take a road trip this summer without this information in your
wallet. To request your FREE wallet card, email helmetcard@gmail.com and type “Helmet Law” in the subject line.
Just provide your mailing address and the Michigan motorcycle crash lawyers of Buckfire & Buckfire will send one out right away!

On Friday, April 27th, 2012 the world will join together in the movement against student bullying, for International STAND UP to Bullying Day. International STAND UP to bullying day is a special event in which people across the world who have signed a special “pledge shirt” join together in wearing them to accomplish three things: (1) Send a loud, non-confrontation message of resistance to bullies, (2) Identify themselves to victims as a source of support willing to help, (3) Draw attention to the effects of bullying, and stimulate passive bystanders into action.

The stand is taken globally, with pledge shirts and services being made available to schools and workplaces in 25 different countries, United States included. To date, more than 2,600 schools, workplaces and organizations representing more than a million people have taken the STAND.

In honor of International STAND UP to bullying day, our Michigan personal injury lawyers of Buckfire & Buckfire, P.C. would like to share an infographic that we created to display the facts and statistics about student bullying. The idea for the infographic arose from the many calls our Michigan personal injury lawyers receive every week from concerned parents about their children who are
being bullied in Michigan school.

“Student Bullying in the United States Statistics and Facts” is a visual representation that quickly and clearly identifies facts and statistics of how serious and prevalent student bullying in our United States school systems.  Some of the visuals on the infographic include two maps of the United States, one classifying which states are the worst to live in for bullying K-12, and one classifying which states enforce bullying laws, as well as other helpful visual aids.

To learn more about student bullying facts and to view the “Student Bullying in the United States Statistics and Facts”, visit www.BuckfireLaw.com Near the bottom of the homepage you will see a link that will directly take you the “Student Bullying” infographic. Share this infographic with others working to prevent this problem by embedding the graphic on your own site, emailing friends and colleagues, and sharing on all social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, and Google Buzz.  You can do this by using the appropriate
social media buttons on the left of our homepage by   “liking,” “Tweeting,” “+1,” our homepage – www.BuckfireLaw.com.

Aspiration Pneumonia in Michigan Nursing Home Patients | MI Neglect Lawyer
Detroiter
Friday, 13 April 2012 11:18

Our nursing home neglect lawyers in Michigan are frequently contacted by family members of nursing home patients who have been diagnosed with pneumonia.  Acquired pneumonia is unfortunately relatively common in skilled nursing care facilities and often leads to the death of the resident.   Many times, the pneumonia is related to an aspiration event and proper preventative care can reduce the risk of this this from developing.

Aspiration pneumonia is often caused when a nursing home patient coughs while swallowing.  There are a number of risk factors involved in this phenomenon, including the patient “needs help eating” and “coughs while swallowing.”  Improved feeding techniques can help reduce the risk of aspiration pneumonia.  Better quality feeding studies and swallowing studies have been recommended to control this problem.  It has also been suggested that better oral hygiene can prevent aspiration pneumonia.

When a resident or patient develops aspiration pneumonia and it is the result of poor care or neglect by the nursing home staff, the patient and the patient’s family may have legal recourse against the nursing home.  Because aspiration pneumonia can often lead to death, the surviving family members may be able to pursue a wrongful death lawsuit against the facility.

Also, if the resident or patient demonstrates the signs or symptoms of pneumonia and necessary care and treatment is delayed or never provided, a nursing home neglect lawsuit can be filed against the nursing home.  Nursing home residents and their families do have legal rights when the nursing facility fails to properly care for the patient.    It is unlikely that the facility will disclose the important issues surrounding the illness to the family or the patient, so family members should contact an experienced Michigan nursing home negligence lawyer to investigate the case on their behalf.

If you would like more information about your legal rights after Michigan nursing home abuse or neglect, you can order our FREE book, "The Michigan Nursing Home Abuse & Neglect Handbook," by top-rated Michigan lawyer Lawrence J. Buckfire. The book is an insider's report on nursing home abuse claims and includes why most nursing home injuries are never reported or discovered. Our book sells for $14.95 on Amazon but Lawrence will send it to you for FREE!

If you or a family member have been diagnosed with aspiration pneumonia due to nursing home neglect and abuse, you should contact our nursing home lawyers in Michigan immediately. Call us now at (800) 606-1717 to speak with one of our experienced Michigan nursing home abuse neglect about your case.
