PMBC & Chamber’s Matchmaking Summit with Ford Yields $11 Million in New Contracts for Michigan Suppliers

The matchmaking summit hosted by Ford and the Michigan Economic Development Corporation’s Pure Michigan Business Connect program (PMBC) in March 2013 resulted in more than $11 million in supply contracts being distributed to Michigan-based companies. Ford and its Tier 1 suppliers accounted for contracts worth $10.4 million.

The event connected more than 300 qualified Michigan suppliers with 12 of Ford’s purchasing teams and 30 of the company’s Tier 1 suppliers. Through its Supplier Diversity Program, Ford aims to source at least 10 percent of U.S. purchases from businesses owned by minorities, women and veterans.

The Chamber remains a strategic partner of PMBC, supporting its efforts throughout Southeast Michigan. To read more about the efforts of PMBC to bolster growth opportunities for Michigan companies, click here.
