The Detroit Regional Chamber encourages its members to be politically active. Taking part in the political process helps you stay informed and engaged with issues that affect the business community. The Detroit Regional Chamber offers several ways to get involved: Vote4BizTake action on critical issues, provide feedback on legislation, communicate with legislators, get weekly legislative updates - all in the Vote4Biz Action Center. Committee InvolvementThe Government Relations staff manages several committees to provide member and stakeholder input in the development of public policy. Surveys of Our MembershipChamber members frequently are asked to provide feedback via surveys on key emerging issues. Take our current survey on how Barack Obama's administration can help businesses in the Detroit region here. We will share the results with his administration during his visit to Detroit on July 14. Advocacy & TestimonialsChamber members are often our best resources on the implications of proposed regulatory or public policy. Our lobbying activities are further enhanced when members provide first-hand testimonials. Contact Brad Williams, Vice President, Government relations if you want to get involved. Political Action Committee (PAC)The Chamber manages three PACs to reach all levels of government and influence the political process. Day In LansingThe Government Relations Group provides opportunities for Chamber members and staff to visit Lansing to learn about state government and lobbying. If you are interested in joining us for one of our scheduled Day In Lansing programs, contact Brad Williams at 313.596.0349. For more information on any of these opportunities, contact Brad Williams at 313.596.0349. |
