About Translinked

Transportation, Distribution, Logistics & Supply Chain Management in southeast Michigan, northwest Ohio, and southwest Ontario

The Detroit area has over 100 years of manufacturing and trade expertise. Offering connections to both the United States and Canadian ports, this area provides access to hundreds of markets through a variety of routes. Such variety places Detroit in the top five export markets almost every year. With approximately $200 billion per year in cross-border movement, Detroit offers the premier location on the U.S. and Canadian border to move goods.

Translinked is the Detroit Regional Chamber’s initiative working to create a regional industry cluster of excellence around transportation, distribution and logistics. Linking the region’s rich assets in business, talent, infrastructure and location, Translinked drives to ensure the region’s transportation infrastructure continues to meet the anticipated growth in international trade and freight movement.

Through innovation and promotion of global supply chain capabilities, significant economic development and job growth of more than 66,000 new jobs could be achieved for the region by 2021. The overall goal of Translinked is to create an efficient and cost-effective first-tier multimodal transportation and logistics hub in southeast Michigan, northwest Ohio and southwest Ontario.

Translinked Highlights

The vision of Translinked is to create an industry cluster of excellence around transportation, distribution and logistics in the southeast Michigan, northwest Ohio and southwest Ontario region. With support from the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) and the New Economy Initiative (NEI), Translinked leverages our regional supply chain resources for new investment and economic growth in the region.

Here's the Translinked strategy:

  • Create a regional focus on logistics and supply chain.
  • Communicate the assets, resources and capabilities of the region.
  • Cultivate logistics business and culture within the region.
