Walsh Foundation Appoints Two New Board Members

TROY, Mich., Sept. 10, 2019 —The Walsh Foundation announces the appointment of two new members to its Board of Directors. The newly appointed Board members are business leaders and Walsh alumni Todd Hohauser, Chief Executive Officer of Harvey Hohauser & Associates and Chairman of IIC Partners and Daryl Kaiser, Chief Financial Officer for American Roads and the Detroit Windsor Tunnel.

“We are pleased to welcome these two individuals to the Walsh Foundation Board of Directors,” said Susan Foley, Vice President, and Chief Advancement Officer of Walsh. “In addition to being leaders in their industries, as active, engaged alumni, they demonstrate a strong commitment to Walsh’s continued success transforming lives through education.”

Hohauser received his Master of Science in Management from Walsh in 2003. In 2009 he was named Outstanding Graduate of the Last Decade. In addition to the Walsh Foundation Board, Hohauser has served as Board Member and Chair with The Epilepsy Foundation, CORP! & MichBiz Board of Advisors and is a mentor for Endeavor Detroit.

Kaiser earned his Bachelor of Accountancy from Walsh in 1991. He has remained highly engaged with Walsh since that time, previously serving as activities chairman of the Walsh Alumni Association. He currently is an adjunct faculty member and a member of the Walsh Accountancy Advisory Board.

The Walsh Foundation Board fosters private and public philanthropic support for strategic educational initiatives at Walsh while ensuring the integrity of the philanthropy program. It is staffed by Walsh employees and led by volunteers who are business, community and industry leaders.

Walsh President, Alumni and Trustees Named Top Business Leaders

TROY, Mich., Sept. 6, 2019 — For the second year in a row, Walsh President and CEO Marsha Kelliher has been named one of the most powerful business leaders in metro Detroit by DBusiness Magazine. The Detroit 500 list recognizes business leaders who have made a significant impact in their role and is determined by factors including organization size, growth rate, geographical reach, and each leader’s network.

“I am honored by this recognition and proud to be in the company of these strong business leaders, including Walsh alumni, trustees and partners,” said Kelliher.

Since joining Walsh in 2017, Kelliher has been instrumental in the enactment of an ambitious strategic plan initiative and the launch of several new academic programs, including the country’s only multi-course concentration in automotive cybersecurity, a Bachelor of Business Administration in Human Resources, a Bachelor of Science in Applied Management, the Master of Arts in Business, and a Master of Science in Organizational Leadership.

Business Leaders Appointed to Walsh Board of Trustees

TROY, Mich., Aug. 28, 2019 — Walsh announces the appointment of four new members to its Board of Trustees. The newly appointed Board members are Michelle Acciavatti, Market Leader Michigan and Northwest Ohio, Willis Towers Watson LC; David Lewis, President, AT&T Michigan; Michele Honomichl, Founder, Executive Chairman & Chief Strategy Officer, Celergo and retired U.S. Air Force Brig. Gen. Doug Slocum.

“It is with great enthusiasm that we welcome these four individuals to our Board of Trustees,” said Marsha Kelliher, President and CEO of Walsh. “They bring a diverse range of expertise and experience at an important time in Walsh’s history, and we look forward to their leadership and insight.”

Acciavatti consults with large global organizations on the strategy, design and management of their risk and human resources programs. She is also responsible for colleague engagement and recruitment in the market and in 2017, became the city’s first female market leader in the company’s 70-year history here in Detroit. Acciavatti was also recently named one of Crain’s Detroit’s 2019 Notable Women in HR.

Lewis was named President of AT&T-Michigan in 2018 after serving as Director of External and Corporate Affairs since 2009. Prior to AT&T, Lewis worked for U.S. Senator Evan Bayh and as Indiana’s Clerk of the Supreme Court, Court of Appeals and Tax Court. He’s been named Who’s Who of Black Indianapolis and Corporate Citizen of the Year by the NAACP State Convention.

Honomichl provides strategic direction for the services, technologies and market expansion for Celergo, a Global Payroll Services Provider managing local, offshore and expatriate payrolls in over 120 countries. She also founded GPSLink, a web-based technology to help manage expatriate administration. Honomichl has presented at APA, SHRM, and other venues and contributed to “Payroll Answer Book” by Wolters Kluwer, 2007 through 2018 editions.

Brig. Gen. Slocum is the Executive Advisor to the CEO of Simon Group Holdings. He served 35 years with the U.S. Air Force and Air Force National Guard, including as Commanding General of the 127th Wing and Selfridge Air National Guard Base. He has authored over 250 lessons, textbooks and professional publications and received an honorary Doctor of Laws from Walsh.
