Working Uninsured Detroit
The Detroit Regional Chamber has begun, in conjunction with "Cover the Uninsured Week," a new program called Health First America to lower the number of working without health insurance. Across the United States there are an estimated 27 million full-time workers and 37 million part-time workers that are uninsured. In Michigan, there are nearly 1.2 million workers who have no insurance. Addressing this and other heath-care related issues is part of the Chamber’s Health Care Central, featuring products, services, events, public policy activity and other components addressing all business-related health-care issues.
