Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, LARA Director Orlene Hawks, Adjutant General and DMVA Director Major General Paul Rogers, and MVAA Director Zaneta Adams announced the introduction of bipartisan legislation that supports military personnel, veterans, and their families by reducing barriers to professional licensure. Rep. Andrea Schroeder (R-Independence Twp.), Rep. Sarah Anthony (D-Lansing), Sen. John Bizon (R-Battle Creek), and Sen. Adam Hollier (D-Detroit) are the primary sponsors of the legislation.

The Detroit Regional Chamber PAC again released its list of bipartisan endorsements ahead of the November 2020 general election. The endorsements were made based on responses to a Chamber PAC survey, input from PAC members, and individual interactions. Endorsements were also based on alignment with the Chamber’s legislative policy priorities. The Chamber’s track record of success held strong this year with a 97.7% success rate in the election of its endorsed candidates.
