August 5, 2022
Plunkett Cooney partner Sandra J. Densham was recently named by Michigan Lawyers Weekly’s (MiLW) to its 2022 Class of “Influential Women of Law.”

“Sandy is an outstanding attorney,” said Thomas P. Vincent, Plunkett Cooney’s President and CEO. “She deserves this award for all the work and time she dedicates to her clients, the community and her colleagues.”

Densham is among 32 attorneys and judges who will be honored at a luncheon on Sept. 23 at the Detroit Marriott in Troy where one member of the 2022 class will also be named “Woman of the Year.” MiLW, a leading publication serving the state’s legal industry, will also recognize this year’s honorees in a special section of the newspaper that will be distributed Sept. 26.

MLW editorial staff members selected this year’s honorees based on their excellent work on behalf of clients and within the judicial system, as well as their commitment to the communities they serve and service to the profession. The honorees are inspiring and accomplished leaders, who serve as mentors to others, and they contribute significant time and effort to volunteerism and/or pro bono initiatives.

A partner in the firm’s Grand Rapids office, Densham focuses her practice in the area of general defense litigation, including product, premises and motor vehicle liability, as well as marine and recreational boating law.

Prior to joining the firm, Densham spent over 20 years as a paralegal specialist with the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Grand Rapids where she worked to defend the U.S. in a variety of civil cases. In 2004, the U.S. Attorney nominated her for the prestigious Department of Justice Director’s Award.

Densham earned her law degree, magna cum laude, in 2005 from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School where she received numerous academic awards. While in law school, she served as Senior Associate Editor of the Law Review for which she received the John D. Voelker Award for Outstanding Contribution. She was also selected as one of the Top 10 Best Advocates in the First Year Criminal Procedure Moot Court competition. Densham received her undergraduate degree, summa cum laude, from Davenport University in 1992.
