Reduced Capacity for the 2022 Conference

To enhance health and safety measures and optimize attendees’ experience, capacity for the 2022 Conference will be reduced to 1,300 attendees. The Chamber anticipates that registration will reach capacity. Once capacity is reached, those interested in registering will be added to a waitlist.

The 2022 Conference Chairman Arn Tellem, vice chairman of Pistons Sports and Entertainment, will lead an advisory committee of Michigan-based chief executive officers and Chamber leadership to ensure the theme and agenda tackle critical issues while guaranteeing a safe and comfortable environment for attendees.

The 2022 Conference will focus on the business community’s changing civic role in polarizing times, highlighting the areas in which Michigan’s business community can set an example:

  • Advancing diversity as a strength.
  • Utilizing civility and facts in public discourse.
  • Building a culture of empathy.
  • Advocating for the fundamental tenets of American democracy.

The Mackinac Policy Conference – the Detroit Regional Chamber’s annual statewide event – convenes Michigan’s most influential audience to engage in collaborative dialogue on the state’s economic future. Since 1981, the Conference has provided a unique-in-the-nation experience for Michigan’s top business, government, civic, philanthropic, and entrepreneurial leaders.

2022 Vaccination Policy

The Chamber will require full COVID-19 vaccination for all 2022 Mackinac Policy Conference participants. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention defines “fully vaccinated” as two weeks after receiving the second shot of a two-dose vaccine, or two weeks after the single-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine. This requirement includes on-site vendors and Chamber staff supporting the Conference. The Chamber is using CLEAR Health Pass to assist with verifying vaccination status.
