Candidate Spotlight: Rep. Anthony Forlini (R-Harrison Township)

The Detroit Regional Chamber’s Political Action Committee recently endorsed State Representative Anthony Forlini (R-Harrison Township) in his reelection bid for Michigan’s 24th House District.

Rep. Forlini has demonstrated a realistic approach to key issues in Southeast Michigan and was an outspoken supporter of the Grand Bargain and other key Chamber policy initiatives ranging from transportation funding to the expansion of the Education Achievement Authority.

Rep. Forlini’s appointment to the House Appropriations Committee illustrates his willingness to work with both sides of the aisle, which is critical to Michigan’s reinvention. Vehicle Tour, WJR Appearance Highlight MICHauto Presence at CAR’s MBS

For the third straight year, the Chamber’s MICHauto program took its message of the importance of growing, promoting and retaining Michigan’s automotive industry to the Center for Automotive Research’s Management Briefing Seminars (MBS) in Traverse City. This year’s efforts included collaborating with the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) to kick off a tour of vehicles with ties to Michigan, operate an exhibitor booth and co-host a reception for key industry stakeholders.

As reported in last week’s eDetroiter, the tour will raise awareness of the importance of the automotive industry to Michigan’s economic comeback and its future, and will include stops at the Woodward Dream Cruise on Aug. 16 and the MICHauto Summit on Sept. 23.

MICHauto Vice President Glenn Stevens also appeared with Michigan’s Senior Automotive Adviser and Senior Vice President of the Automotive Industry Office, Nigel Francis, on The Paul W.
