Governor Snyder to Open 2013 Michigan Automotive Summit, Agenda Taking Shape

Governor Rick Snyder will serve as the opening keynote speaker at the 2013 Michigan Automotive Summit on Wednesday, September 25 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at COBO Center. Gov. Snyder will take the stage to welcome attendees and provide opening remarks, affirming Michigan’s commitment to its foundation industry.

The daylong event will highlight Michigan’s automotive capabilities and expertise, discuss industry growth opportunities, and touch on the necessity to capitalize on – and maintain – the state’s role as the epicenter of the global automotive industry. This opening session is sponsored by Michigan Media Solutions.

Maverick Marketing Monday is back as the Chamber’s Small Business: Unlocked fall lineup gets under way featuring Jeff Chu, editor-at-large of Fast Company on Monday, September 9, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Emagine in Royal Oak. Fast Company is the world’s leading progressive business media brand based in New York with insight on how to turn customers into brand ambassadors.

Beaumont’s Gene Michalski Opens Inside the CEO Mind Season

Beaumont Health System President and CEO, and Chamber Board member Gene Michalski kicked off this season of “Inside the CEO Mind” last week, providing insight into the future of Beaumont and his own unique perspective on leadership to more than 100 attendees. Following a question-and-answer session, attendees had the opportunity to take a tour of the Marcia & Eugene Applebaum Surgical Learning Center and Suzanne & Herbert Tyner Center for Cardiovascular Interventions.

The Detroit Regional Chamber’s MICHauto program is collaborating with the 2014 Automotive News Premier Automotive Suppliers’ Contribution to Excellence (PACE) Awards, held on April 7, 2014 at the Max M. Fisher Music Center in Detroit. The PACE Awards, established in 1994, honor superior innovation, technological advancement and business performance among automotive suppliers.

The PACE Awards program welcomes entries from all suppliers to automotive OEMs. Applicants and winners have included large and small companies supplying production parts, materials, capital equipment and services.
