Todd Piersol, Executive Vice President, is proud to announce that Brown & Brown of Detroit teammates raised $1,475 for The First Tee of Greater Detroit during the office’s third quarter Blue Jean Day fundraiser. Every Friday, the office’s 70+ employees have the option of wearing blue jeans to work, in exchange for a $5 donation to the non-profit of the quarter.

The First Tee of Greater Detroit organization strives to impact the lives of young people in the community by offering affordable and accessible golf facilities to those with limited exposure to golf, resulting in character development and life enhancing values.

Piersol stated, “Like all of the charities we support, The First Tee of Great Detroit does exceptional work in our community. It’s about so much more than learning golf and has a proven method of instilling character-enhancing life skills in its young participants. We are thrilled to continue supporting this initiative.”

For the fourth and final quarter of 2017, Brown & Brown of Detroit has chosen to raise money for the Assistance League of Southeastern Michigan. The League is a nonprofit volunteer organization serving Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb Counties whose purpose is to clothe, feed, educate, and comfort children and adults through community-based programs. Their largest program is Operation School Bell, which includes Clothing Distributions, Backpack Meals, One-2-One Tutoring, Link to Creative Teaching, Community Connection, Community Kitchen, and Pass It Forward.

Brown & Brown of Detroit is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Brown & Brown Insurance, the sixth largest insurance intermediary in the United States. Located in Sterling Heights, this office is the largest independent insurance agency in Macomb County.
