Business Attraction: B2B Meetings at the Paris Air Show

Note: Justin Robinson of the Detroit Regional Chamber’s Business Attraction team is in France this week for the 50th Paris Air Show – a key global event for the aviation and space industry that draws exhibitors, delegations and trade visitors from around the world. The Chamber is teaming up with Pure Michigan Business Connect (PMBC) on this trip to expose global companies to Michigan’s first-rate supply chain with the goal of getting these firms to locate in the Detroit region. He will blog periodically from the event.

Thursday wrapped up the last official day of exclusive B2B meetings at the Paris Air Show. The Chamber team had solid meetings with the Ontario and Quebec Aerospace associations to discuss ideas for collaboration. Additionally, we met with a number of large aerospace firms with a presence in Michigan, including Barnes Aerospace, Parker Aerospace, Parrot and Liebherr. We also were able to attend the French Aerospace Industries Association reception at the invite of our partners at UBI France.

Today the show opens to the general public who will be able to view the vendor displays and watch the flight demonstrations and will be our last day to call on companies before returning to Detroit. All together this has been a great show that merits return visits to this bi-annual event as we work to attract companies from around the world to Michigan.
