Butzel Long attorney Efe Poturoglu to moderate immigration roundtable session at the Annual Turkish American Conference on March 13, 2015 in Washington, D.C.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Efe Poturoglu, an attorney and shareholder based in Butzel Long’s Washington, D.C. office, will moderate an immigration roundtable session at the Assembly of Turkish American Associations (ATAA) 35th Annual Turkish American Conference in Washington, D.C. on Friday, March 13, 2015.

“It is an honor to participate in this very prestigious national Turkish American civic conference,” said Poturoglu. “We will discuss updates on a variety of immigration law matters.”

Poturoglu, regularly appears as a legal expert on the Turkish American Television and various National Turkish TV stations to comment on business and family immigration matters. In addition, he is frequently quoted in the U.S. and Turkish press regarding developments in immigration law.

He focuses his practice on business and family immigration matters, including all types of temporary visas (including H-1B specialty occupation and E-2 investor visas) and permanent residence (both family and employment-based green cards).

Poturoglu also provides legal advice and assistance to corporate clients with the transfer of business persons to the United States (including L-1 Intracompany Transfer Visas) and development of corporate immigration policies and strategies.

Poturoglu handles a wide variety of civil litigation matters with a particular emphasis in business and commercial disputes. His business litigation experience encompasses such areas as: labor/employment, breach of contract, fraud and business torts.

He is a frequent speaker on business immigration to educational and business organizations in the Washington, D.C. area. In 2013,

Poturoglu received the Power Player of the Year Award from Washington SmartCEO magazine in the category of Immigration Law.

Poturoglu received his Juris Doctor degree from Georgetown University Law Center in 2003, where he was a member of the Georgetown Journal of International Law. He received his undergraduate degree in International Business from the University of Denver in 2000.

Poturoglu is a member of the bars of the District of Columbia and Maryland. He also is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), the nation’s leading immigration law association. He currently serves as the Washington, D.C. Liaison to the Turkish Resource Center of North America, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting business, educational and cultural collaboration between Turkey and North America. Poturoglu is fluent in French and Turkish.
