Butzel Long attorney Efe Poturoglu to present legal seminar on June 10 in Istanbul

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Efe Poturoglu, an attorney and shareholder based in Butzel Long’s Washington, D.C. office, is presenting a legal seminar on June 10, 2015 in Istanbul, Turkey at the MÜSİAD headquarters.

His seminar is titled, “Investment Opportunities in the U.S.” Poturoglu will address various legal topics including forming the right entity in the U.S.; visa/green card options for foreign investors; and the U.S. litigation/court system.

MÜSİAD members include more than 500 high profile Turkish/ international companies. The organization provides a platform for contributing to the social, cultural, political, economic, scientific and technological development of individuals and institutions, society, the region and world.

Poturoglu, regularly appears as a legal expert on the Turkish American Television and various National Turkish TV stations to comment on business and family immigration matters. In addition, he is frequently quoted in the U.S. and Turkish press regarding developments in immigration law.

Poturoglu focuses his practice on business and family immigration matters including all types of temporary visas (such as H-1, H-2B, L-1, E-2, O and R visas) and permanent residence (both family and employment-based green card). He also provides legal advice and assistance to corporate clients with the transfer of business persons to the United States and development of corporate immigration policies and strategies. He has successfully represented foreign governments and high-profile international companies employing foreign workers in various industries including: IT/technology, aviation, construction, engineering, hospitality, healthcare, religious, education and not-for-profit.

He handles a wide variety of civil litigation matters with a particular emphasis in business and commercial disputes. His business litigation experience encompasses such areas as: labor/employment, breach of contract, fraud and business torts.

Poturoglu recently received the Lawyer of the Year Award, presented by the American-Turkish Association of Washington, D.C (ATA-DC).

He is a frequent speaker on business immigration to educational and business organizations in the Washington, D.C. area. In 2013, Poturoglu received the Power Player of the Year Award from Washington SmartCEO magazine in the category of Immigration Law.

Poturoglu received his Juris Doctor degree from Georgetown University Law Center in 2003, where he was a member of the Georgetown Journal of International Law. He received his undergraduate degree in International Business from the University of Denver in 2000.

Poturoglu is a member of the bars of the District of Columbia and Maryland. He also is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), the nation’s leading immigration law association.

He currently serves as the Washington, D.C. Liaison to the Turkish Resource Center of North America, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting business, educational and cultural collaboration between Turkey and North America. Poturoglu is fluent in French and Turkish.
