Chamber CEO Testifies in Lansing on Behalf of Detroit’s Plan of Adjustment

DetRecovPkg_0514_19 (2)Last week, Chamber CEO Sandy Baruah testified before the newly formed House Committee on Detroit’s Recovery and Michigan’s Future in support of the city’s Plan for Adjustment and bankruptcy settlement legislation.

A bill was recently introduced in the Michigan House of Representatives for Michigan to contribute $195 million to a “grand bargain” that will help settle Detroit’s bankruptcy and mitigate cuts to city employee pensions, while protecting art at the Detroit Institute of Arts. This plan is critical to settling Detroit’s bankruptcy and mitigating cuts to city employee pensions.
