It’s the weekend, and you’re stuck inside again. What’s there to do? Consider the examples below of ways to keep busy while spreading positivity through this difficult time.

1. Connect with friends and family virtually.

Catch up with your loved ones in a safer way — through video chatting, doing puzzles online, or sharing your favorite memories on social media.

2. Learn how to make your own facemask.

The CDC recommends wearing a facemask in public. Since supplies are low, making your own with materials you already have at home is your best bet.

3. Support local businesses — from a safe distance.

Support the local businesses in your community by shopping online and ordering delivery, leaving positive reviews, and by encouraging others to do the same.

4. For families with kids, make staying indoors a new adventure.

Staying inside doesn’t have to mean increased screen time. Try out some new activities with your family like easy science experiments, healthy baking, and playing games outdoors.

5. Consider ways to help others in need.

If you’re able to give back, now is the time to do so. Support initiatives like Pay It Forward that helps Detroit restaurants feed the city’s most vulnerable residents.
