Detroit Regional Chamber CEO: Gov. Snyder’s win represents victory of responsible leadership over politics as usual

DETROIT, November 4, 2014: Today, the Detroit Regional Chamber’s President and CEO Sandy K. Baruah released the following statement on Gov. Snyder’s re-election:

“The re-election of Gov. Snyder represents a victory of responsible leadership over politics as usual.  Gov. Snyder ran a quiet and positive campaign, in contrast to the trumped up and misleading charges levied by his opponent. The fact that the election results were as close as they were clearly demonstrate the power of negative and misleading political attacks.

Our state and nation need more leaders who can and will govern responsibly and manage effectively, and fewer who advance ‘politics as usual.’  Michigan is very fortunate to have the leadership of Rick Snyder for four more years.”

The Chamber’s Political Action Committee (PAC) endorsed Governor Snyder. With a long-standing record of supporting candidates on both sides of the aisle who support a pro-growth agenda, the Chamber’s PAC endorsement remains one of the most sought-after endorsements in Michigan politics.
