DTE Energy’s Successful Ongoing Procurement with Michigan Businesses

DTE Energy has committed to helping Michigan companies raise capital and improve access to business services and procurement opportunities through the Michigan Economic Development Corporation’s Pure Michigan Business Connect (PMBC) initiative. In the first three months of 2014, DTE invested $202 million, surpassing its goal of $169 million for the quarter.  A portion of that investment – $41 million – went to Detroit-based suppliers.

PMBC is part of an $8 billion public-private program announced by Michigan Governor Rick Snyder at the 2011 Mackinac Policy Conference. As a leader in the initiative, DTE has pledged to shift an incremental $1 billion in spending from businesses located outside of Michigan and the U.S. to Michigan-based suppliers by the end of 2015.
