Held Tuesday, May 26 through Friday, May 29, the Conference will spur a comprehensive dialogue focused on the three pillars of talent, urban revitalization and cohesion

“In the world’s most dynamic industry, Ford Motor Co. has set the standard for the innovation that is redefining the global automotive landscape,” said Mark Davidoff, Michigan managing partner, Deloitte LLP, and 2015 Conference chair. “Ford’s transformation offers insight critical to success in the global marketplace. We are pleased to welcome back Bill Ford to Michigan’s Center Stage to highlight how developing a culture of change has laid the groundwork for the automaker’s success.”

Bill Ford is leading the company that put the world on wheels into the 21st century. He joined Ford Motor Company in 1979 as a product planning analyst and went on to hold a variety of assignments in manufacturing, marketing, product development and finance. A board member board since 1988, he became chairman in 1999. Throughout his career he has emphasized the importance of valuing people and serving society to attract and retain the best talent. His vision is to provide sustainable transportation that is affordable in every sense of the word: economically, environmentally and socially.

“Few companies in Michigan have successfully leveraged their past while looking to the future like Ford,” said Chamber President and CEO Sandy K. Baruah. “From talent and workforce development, to the impact of good corporate citizens, Bill Ford’s expertise and unique forward-looking vision aligns well with the Conference’s goal of ensuring dynamic growth for Michigan.”

The 2015 Conference aims to ensure Michigan’s dynamic and geometric economic growth through three pillars:

  • Talent: Deepen Michigan’s talent base through attraction and retention and by connecting individuals with opportunities;
