Glacier Hills Senior Living Community and United Methodist Retirement Communities Partner To Expand High-Quality Home Care Services

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Two nonprofit organizations, Glacier Hills Senior Living Community and United Methodist Retirement Communities, Inc. (UMRC) both leaders in senior residential and healthcare services, announce a new partnership called Caring Partners Home Health, which will expand home care services to serve more seniors in and around Washtenaw County.

UMRC, founded and continuously operating in Chelsea since 1906, has become an equal partner with Glacier Hills, founded in 1973, in what was Glacier Hills Home Care. The two partners have changed the name of the organization to Caring Partners Home Health, to reflect its new direction. The company, established in 2004, will continue to be headquartered in Ann Arbor and governed by jointly-appointed board, including community members. The company now serves approximately 100 clients, a number that both organizations expect to grow in the coming months.

“Our two organizations bring 150 years of experience with seniors to home health care clients,” said Ray Rabidoux, president and CEO of Glacier Hills. “As nonprofit organizations, we are solely focused on service to this local community.”

“As Michigan’s senior population continues to grow, nonprofit organizations committed to a mission of senior care must seek to meet an increased demand for services,” said John Thorhauer, UMRC’s president and CEO. “The creation of Caring Partners Home Health allows our two organizations to take a long-term view and expand our proven track records to meet the needs of seniors for whom home care is the best option.”

Because it is comprised of nonprofit organizations, the partnership plans to continue to invest in its mission and provide differences that benefit clients and their families, including regular supervisory visits to client homes. As a mission-driven organization, Caring Partners Home Health will put its resources into innovation to meet new needs as Michigan’s senior population increases.
