High School Student Spotlight: Jazzmyn Mullins, MCHCody

Jazzmyn MullinsDetroit senior Jazzmyn Mullins is saying goodbye to homework and classes at Medicine and Community Health Academy at Cody forever, a semester sooner than expected. Mullins began working with her school counselor and college advisor last year to prepare for her college career in January. She completed her application for federal financial aid at the start of the school year and selected an orientation date for her future alma mater.

Mullins is graduating early after taking on additional classes to accumulate required credits faster. She will enroll at Wayne County Community College District to study nursing before pursuing a bachelor’s and master’s degree from Wayne State University. Having gained experience as a caregiver for family members, Mullins is knowledgeable of hospitals in the Detroit area and dreams of working at Beaumont Hospital.

She said that she is excited to begin her college career and can’t wait to graduate. The Detroit Scholarship Fund team congratulates Mullins on her road to a successful nursing career and serving as an example for future Cody alumni.
