Jim Farley

Jim Farley is chief operating officer of Ford Motor Company. Farley leads the company’s drive to strengthen its automotive operations and deliver a sustainable global operating margin. He oversees all of the company’s global markets and automotive operations. He also leads Ford Smart Mobility, Ford Autonomous Vehicles, and the company’s partnership with Argo AI.

Previously, Farley served as president of new businesses, technology, and strategy. In this role, he led the Ford Motor Company’s strategic transformation into increased growth and higher margin business by leveraging smart, connected vehicles and breakthrough customer experiences. Farley previously served as the company’s executive vice president and president of global markets, where he was responsible for overseeing business units across the globe. He was instrumental in various other roles throughout the company including its European business transformation, leading the ongoing reinvention of the Lincoln brand, amplifying the company’s global marketing sales and service, and more.

Farley attended Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. where he earned a bachelor’s degree in economics and computer science, and the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where he completed his master of business administration with a focus in finance. He and his wife, Lia, have three children.
