John E. James

President, James Group International

John E. James is the president of James Group International, the parent company for several supply chain management and logistics companies in Detroit, Mich. Since joining the company, James Group International has significantly increased its workforce and grown revenue by $100 million.

In the 2018 election, James ran as the Republican candidate in Michigan for a U.S. Senate seat and narrowly lost to incumbent Sen. Debbie Stabenow. He frequently appears as an analyst on programs such as ABC Network’s “This Week,” Fox News and CNN.

Prior to joining James Group International, James served eight years of active duty military service as a Ranger-qualified aviation officer in Iraq, where he received a number of military honors. He started out his military career at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. He continues to serve his community on various Boards focused on veterans, minorities, mobility and the workforce.

James has earned a bachelor’s degree from West Point, a master’s degree from Penn State University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Michigan Ross School of Business.
