July 1: Chamber PAC Endorses David Trott for 11th Congressional District; Applauds Detroit City Council for Approving M-1 Rail Agreements

Candidate Spotlight – David Trott for the 11th Congressional District

Building on its efforts to identify and support pro-economic development candidates from both sides of the aisle, the Detroit Regional Chamber’s Political Action Committee (PAC) Board recently endorsed David Trott (R-Birmingham) for the 11th Congressional District. Trott got a first-hand look at what it means to be a member of Congress when he served on the staff of former Congressman William Broomfield (R-Royal Oak) in the 1980s. Prior to running for office, Trott joined his father and mother in the family law firm, Trott & Trott, P.C., and grew it into one of the largest real estate firms in the nation.

In making the endorsement, Chamber PAC Board Chair, Terence Thomas said: “Mr. Trott will be a very good member of Congress for voters in Oakland and Wayne counties. As a business owner, he can walk into Congress and go to work on improving the economy. We were also impressed by his commitment to constituent service and solving problems for residents and businesses in his district.”

The Chamber will continue to highlight endorsed candidates each week until the election. For a full list of Chamber-endorsed candidates, click here.

The jump in ranking stems from strong actions being made in-state, including Governor Rick Snyder and the state legislature cutting taxes and replenishing the state’s rainy day fund, Detroit’s historic revitalization, and an unemployment rate being roughly half of what it was at recession’s peak.
