Karen McPhee

Education Policy Advisor to the Governor, State of Michigan

Karen McPhee is the education policy advisor for Gov. Rick Snyder. Prior to joining the Governor’s Strategy Team, she worked for the Ottawa Area Intermediate School District for 30 years, the last 11 as superintendent. She also worked as a broadcast journalist in Northern Michigan and Grand Rapids. McPhee earned a bachelor’s degree in communication from Central Michigan University and a master’s degree in management from Aquinas College. She is a member of the Midwestern Higher Education Compact and the Michigan Education Corps Advisory Board.
