Katy Locker

Program Director, Detroit, Knight Foundation

Katy LockerKaty Locker is the program director for Detroit for the Knight Foundation. In this role, she is focused on Detroit’s unique opportunity to rebuild the city’s civic infrastructure to attract and nurture talent, promote economic opportunity and foster civic engagement. She has also advanced planning for Detroit’s signature places of civic engagement, including Eastern Market and the Detroit riverfront.

As an advocate for Detroit’s thriving arts community, Locker helped the Knight Foundation invest more than $20 million in the city’s art and artists.

Prior to joining the Knight Foundation, Locker served as vice president of programs at the Hudson-Webber Foundation. During her tenure, she led grant-making focused on revitalizing greater downtown Detroit as a catalyst for improved quality of life throughout the city.

Locker is the board chair of Gleaners Community Food Bank. In addition, she serves on the executive committee of Midtown Detroit Inc., the board of Downtown Detroit Partnership, and several advisory committees.
