Mayor Duggan Challenges Business Community to Create 5,000 Jobs for Detroit Youth

Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan made a call today for metro Detroit’s business community to come together and create 5,000 summer jobs in 2015 for Detroit’s youth. Duggan made the announcement during his keynote address sponsored by GalaxE.Solutions. The initiative, called TeenWork Detroit, is part of the Duggan administration’s multi-pronged effort to reverse population decline and improve public safety in the city. The Mayor also highlighted the Detroit Land Bank Authority’s successful home auction, which lists city-owned houses to bidders who agree to rehabilitate the property.

Following his remarks, Mayor Duggan was interviewed by Rochelle Riley, columnist with the Detroit Free Press, and continued to address his goal of driving population growth in Detroit.
