MICHauto Announces GM’s Mark Reuss as Keynote Speaker for 2014 Summit on September 23 at COBO Center

DETROIT, June 25, 2014 –Today, the Detroit Regional Chamber’s MICHauto program announced that GM’s Executive Vice President of Global Product Development, Purchasing and Supply Chain, Mark Reuss, will deliver a keynote address at the 2014 MICHauto Summit on September 23 at COBO Center in Detroit. The second annual statewide Summit will explore the new era of Michigan innovation and the blueprint it sets for the rest of the global automotive industry.

“With his engineering and global industry background, leadership during GM’s turnaround, and his passion for this community, Mark Reuss is a perfect fit for the MICHauto Summit and its focus on the entire industry from concept to consumer,” said Glenn Stevens, vice president of MICHauto and strategic development for the Detroit Regional Chamber. “We are honored to have him help lead this conversation on what needs to be done to keep Detroit and Michigan the epicenter of the global automotive industry.”

Drawing on his leadership at GM, Reuss will address the importance of maintaining, promoting and retaining Michigan’s automotive industry. Currently, Reuss is responsible for the design, engineering, program management and quality of GM vehicles around the world. He also oversees GM’s Global Purchasing and Supply Chain organization and is a member of the GM Executive Operations Committee.

“GM’s commitment and leadership is second to none. They are a critical voice in how Michigan can build on its heritage to grow its future and maintain its position in the rapidly evolving automotive and mobility landscape,” Stevens said.

In addition to remarks from Reuss, programming for the daylong event will focus on the outlook on design, engineering, skilled trades, manufacturing and all things automotive. To view an up-to-date agenda, click here. To register, visit the Chamber’s website.

Last year’s inaugural Summit, brought together nearly 500 leaders from industry, academia and government at the then-newly renovated COBO Center on September 25, 2013. The first-of-its-kind event focused solely on the entire industry supply chain showcasing Michigan as the global epicenter of the automotive industry.
