Plante Moran’s annual North American Plastics Survey is now under way

Southfield, July 8, 2014 – Plante Moran announced its 2014 North American Plastics Industry Survey is now under way. Widely viewed as the most in-depth benchmarking survey in the industry, the resulting North American Plastics Industry Study has been drawing connections between performance and profitability since it was launched by the public accounting, tax and business advisory firm in 1995.

The survey, which is available for download at, focuses on companies across several plastics processes, including injection molding, blow molding, thermoforming, compression and extrusion, and asks plastics processors in the United States, Canada and Mexico to share results in sales and marketing, financial performance, human resources and operations. Companies that participate before Aug. 31 will receive a customized benchmark report in October comparing their organization to their industry peers.

Jeff Mengel is a partner at Plante Moran and co-leader of the firm’s plastics industry group.

“The North American Plastics Industry Study is an established indicator on the state of the plastics industry, thanks to the ongoing survey participation of industry leaders,” Mengel said. “As a result of the broad–based input we receive, Plante Moran is able to gather, analyze and share timely information through what has come to be viewed as a critical source for plastics industry planning and strategy.”
