[…]Abrams, who narrowly lost her race for Georgia governor last year and delivered the Democratic response to President Donald Trump’s State of the Union address last month, will be a keynote speaker at the annual Mackinac Policy Conference in late May.
She said this week that a 2020 presidential run “is definitely on the table.” Abrams also has been considering a U.S. Senate bid next year and has been a national voice for voting rights.
The annual business and political conference is hosted by the Detroit Regional Chamber and held at the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island, a favorite of Michigan lawmakers and lobbyists. The Southeast Michigan business group announced Abram’s participation in the conference in a tweet on Wednesday.
Joining Abrams as announced speakers at this year’s Mackinac Conference are Republican former governors and presidential candidates Jeb Bush of Florida and John Kasich of Ohio.
