Statement from Detroit Regional Chamber CEO on the Appointment of Kevin Kerrigan as Senior Vice President of State’s Automotive Office

DETROIT, November 7, 2014: Today, Detroit Regional Chamber President and CEO Sandy K. Baruah issued the following statement on the appointment of Kevin T. Kerrigan as senior vice president to lead the state’s automotive office, replacing Nigel Francis:

“Continuing to build Michigan’s automotive assets, including focusing on ensuring our state and region retain the mantle as the epicenter of next generation advanced mobility and the connected vehicle, is a key goal the Chamber’s MICHauto program shares with Gov. Rick Snyder.

The Chamber’s MICHauto team looks forward to working with the new leader of the state’s automotive office, Kevin T. Kerrigan, who has already been doing a terrific job on behalf of the state’s automotive industry.  While much has been accomplished under the Snyder administration, much remains to be done.

We sincerely thank Nigel Francis for his efforts that established this important post and put tremendous, thoughtful work in creating the state’s first comprehensive automotive economic strategy. We wish him well in his future endeavors.”
