The Detroit Regional Chamber of Commerce’s political action committee has endorsed Gretchen Whitmer for governor.

The chamber previously endorsed Whitmer during the primary season. The Democratic nominee said she’s proud of the endorsement because Michigan needs a governor who can bring both parties together to solve problems and get things done for the people of Michigan.

“I’ve got real plans to help our businesses grow and attract talent to Michigan by fixing our roads and infrastructure, making health care more affordable, and ensuring every Michigander has a path to a high wage skill,” said Whitmer. “As governor, I’m ready to partner with the Detroit Chamber and everyone else who wants to make Michigan the place people move to for opportunity again. Let’s get to work.”

The second and final debate between Whitmer and Republican nominee will be held from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 24, at WDIV studios in Detroit. The debate will be moderated by Kimberly Gill and Devin Scillian. Recent polling numbers continue to show Whitmer ahead of Schuette.
