Marsh & McLennan AGency Launches New Service Designed with Enterprise-Level Organizations in Mind

Troy, Michigan – April 10, 2019 – The Michigan office of Marsh & McLennan Agency LLC (MMA) announces a new service available for entrepreneurial and growing Michigan-based entities: the MMA Enterprise Group.

MMA’s new Michigan-based Enterprise Group is a strategic solution for organizations with more than 50 employees. Under ACA, organizations of this size are required to offer health care benefits. Along with offering benefits, employers must also address the related and complex issues of benefits administration, employee communications, and compliance.

MMA’s Enterprise Group leads a framework of preferred partners to address these strategic and tactical needs. While technology is at the core of the service, the Enterprise Group provides a team of local benefits specialists to lead employers through the process and partner with them throughout the year to ensure all of their needs are met.

“We are excited to offer Michigan employers a ‘one-stop’ solution for benefits strategy and administration needs, one that is overseen by a team of local knowledge leaders and offers more than a transactional website,” said Denise Christy, chief marketing officer of Marsh & McLennan Agency LLC’s Michigan Health & Benefits operations.

The Enterprise Group team and its clients will also be able to call upon the insight and resources available from MMA, a leading broker/consultant in the market with an established practice working with mid-size and larger entities.

Joining the dedicated MMA Enterprise Group team is John Price as Director of Practice Development. Price started at MMA in 2015 as a Senior Account Manager helping a diverse portfolio of organizations manage their employee group benefits needs, from open enrollment to troubleshooting complex claims and developing employee communications. Prior to joining MMA, Price was an HR professional with Sensors, Inc.

In his new role, Price will leverage his hands-on HR experience and knowledge of the region to introduce business owners and leaders to the Enterprise Group solution.

“John has been a true asset since joining our team. I am confident that his thoughtful approach and entrepreneurial mindset will be valued by Enterprise Group clients,” said Rebecca A. McLaughlan, president & ceo of Marsh & McLennan Agency LLC’s Michigan Health & Benefits operations.

Price received a BA in Political Science from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and a law degree from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law. Actively engaged in the community, Price is a board member with Centro Multicultural La Familia and the Society of Irish American Lawyers, and is a judge for Michigan DECA.

Magnet Consulting Introduces The Mettle Foundry Featuring The Forge

Professional, career development has taken on an exciting new twist at Magnet Consulting’s ‘The Mettle Foundry’, now open in Rochester Hills.

The Mettle Foundry is a professional development center built on the idea that true leadership is unfinished, rough, and beautifully flawed. The goal at TMF is to examine professional strengths and weaknesses in a fun, productive setting to refine and fortify authentic mettle as an individual or team.

The Mettle Foundry features ‘The Forge’, a problem solving room similar to the escape rooms that are growing in popularity across the country. Unique to The Forge is that it is staffed by trained behaviorists and psychologists who observe and evaluate team and individual behavior.

Each Forge session will include pre-consultation with one of Magnet Consulting’s behavioral experts, an onsite post-Forge class on whatever was the biggest concern for that team, and behavioral reports for the team and each individual. Teams walk away with tools for better communication, problem solving, conflict management and success.

“We believe that better people equals business success,” said Sandy Fiaschetti, Ph.D., Magnet Consulting Co-Founder. “The professionals at Magnet Consulting have spent decades assisting companies with their employee selection, team and leader development, and corporate culture. It was a natural flow for us to create a dedicated space for our clients and the community to sharpen their talents and develop more tools for success.”

In addition to The Forge, The Mettle Foundry will also offer career development workshops, internship training and bootcamps, staff retreats and individual on-site coaching.

“Based upon the response of the community as we have previewed The Mettle Foundry, I’m excited to launch Intern Bootcamp this summer. Intern Bootcamp is the last, and possibly most important, camp a parent will send their high-school senior or pre-college student to 17-22 to and the first place an employer will send a new intern,” said Nicole Lentz, Magnet Consulting Co-Founder. “Here, students will have a week simulation of ‘real work’ and receive real-time feedback on their performance. They will also learn the practical aspects of work that so often are overlooked, like office etiquette, scheduling conference calls, how to talk on that call, and much more.”

Sandy Fiaschetti, PhD and Nicole Lentz, MSF founded Magnet Consulting in 2012, bringing together both organizational psychology and financial experience from automotive, international, and regional industries to clients across the country.

Magnet Consulting works with businesses and municipalities helping them achieve their goals through proven scientific methods of workplace selection and development. Magnet Consulting’s passion is to engage each individual within an organization from the time of hire through the entire career.

The Mettle Foundry, Magnet Consulting’s onsite development facility, is located at 455 South Livernois Road Suite C12 in Rochester Hills, MI. For more information, visit

Livonia based IT Consulting company, Tegrit, fills difficult role for an Application Consulting Engineer for a growing Engineering Software firm in metro Detroit

Tegrit was hired by a German based engineering software company located here in the Metro Detroit area. The engineering software company was looking for an individual who had a strong background working with electrical engineering software and who could demonstrate to various manufacturing companies the advantages of using their specific product.

The client provided the following positive testimonial:

‘I recently decided to place my first recruitment with TEGRIT after meeting one of their account managers on a networking event. I was amazed how fast the team was able to identify a possible candidate that was meeting all of the formal criteria I had put out there. I honestly was only expecting some to be met. In addition, the candidate turned out to be a perfect fit for our team, nicely blending into our business culture. I already see initial payback after only three months. I am excited to see if TEGRIT can keep up with their own standard once we start filling our next position.’

Plante Moran’s Gordon Krater begins second term as managing partner

Southfield, Mich.— July 22, 2013 – Plante Moran, PLLC, one of the nation’s largest certified public accounting and business advisory firms, announces Managing Partner Gordon Krater, CPA, began his second four-year term effective July 1. Krater, the sixth managing partner in the firm’s history, initially took the helm of Plante Moran in July 2009 and will continue to serve until July 2017. Krater became managing partner during the darkest days of the recession, and guided the firm into a solid growth trajectory that includes the opening of a Detroit office in fall, 2013 and a significant merger with Chicago-based Blackman Kallick in July 2012.

“The last four years have brought immense challenges to the profession and the firm, but there have been opportunities for fine-tuning client service, growth of specialized services and new avenues for staff development and client engagement too, and those areas all remain an important part of my leadership focus moving into the next four years,” says Krater. “We’ve also gotten more deeply entrenched in our communities, with Plante Moran Cares outreach projects that put a firm-wide emphasis on critical areas of need, such as literacy, domestic violence and supporting our military, while strengthening our internal culture through these efforts as well.”

The new Detroit office of Plante Moran, which is slated to open fall 2013 and initially house 75 staff members, puts the firm in the heart of Downtown Detroit’s business resurgence, while attracting talent that wants to be part of a growing urban energy. The merger with Blackman Kallick, meanwhile, deepened Plante Moran’s capabilities in the Chicagoland market.

“Chicagoland, with its huge business base, continues to present tremendous opportunities for Plante Moran to share our industry expertise with middle market clients. While we have 21 offices in the Midwest and abroad, we are organized by industry specialization, and this is a strong selling point for prospective clients who want deep industry knowledge in addition to a conveniently located service provider,” notes Krater.

One of the firm’s continued areas of interest is private-equity owned companies.

“An estimated 48 percent of middle market companies are owned by private-equity firms and we are going to be even more aggressive in going after that niche. We understand middle market companies and know how to serve them. Client satisfaction surveys that consistently approach 99 percent approval ratings affirm that our middle market clients find the business advisory services they need to prosper when they partner with Plante Moran,” says Krater.

Krater adds that Plante Moran’s strong reputation in wealth management is another growth area. The firm’s Plante Moran Financial Advisors (PMFA) affiliate, with more than $8 billion of assets under management, was ranked ninth in May 2013 on Forbes’ list of “Top 50 Wealth Managers” (also known as “giants”). PMFA was also named the 16th fastest-growing regional investment advisory (RIA) firm; this was the first year PMFA made either list.

“Plante Moran Financial Advisors celebrated its 30th year in 2012 and its success has been astounding. Yet we believe there are numerous untapped opportunities to further grow this segment based on our team’s independent role in investment decisions and the trust we’ve earned from our clients over the past three decades.”

Reflecting on human resource developments, Krater counts firm culture, commitment to diversity issues and new strategies for developing and strengthening women’s leadership roles, including the firm’s new Women In Leadership initiative to help Plante Moran accelerate its ability to attract and retain women leaders, among his key interest areas.

“It’s the continual investment in our staff that pays the most dividends in the long run. I don’t ever want to lose sight of that,” said Krater.
