Brinks Trademark Attorney Mary Squyres to Speak on Global Protection of Digital Brands at IP Law Summer Institute on Mackinac Island

CHICAGO—July 14, 2014 – Mary M. Squyres, a trademark attorney and shareholder at intellectual property law firm Brinks Gilson & Lione, will be a featured speaker at the 40th Annual Intellectual Property Law Summer Institute, an Institute of Continuing Legal Education (ICLE) seminar to be held July 17-19, 2014 in Mackinac Island, Mich.

Squyres will present “Around the World of Digital Brands in 60 Minutes” on July 19. She will discuss the growing ease with which digital brands can be imitated and infringed given the rapid expansion of digital media and will describe ways to protect brands in different jurisdictions around the world.

Squyres is a 30-year veteran in international trademark matters; she chairs Brinks’ international trademark practice. Squyres has deep experience with international trademark litigation, licensing and prosecution, including developing international filing strategies, negotiating worldwide mutual co-existence agreements, and adopting effective enforcement strategies to defend her clients’ marks and prevent infringements.
