Troy, Mich., Oct. 12, 2021 – Walsh will host virtual information sessions about its Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) program on Nov. 18, 2021 and Jan. 12, 2022 from 6-7 p.m. Jenny Tatsak, Ph.D., director of doctoral programs, will lead the session, which will include a program overview, admissions process, financial aid, career opportunities and a Q&A period. Advanced registration is recommended.

The Walsh DBA is a professional doctoral degree focused on research and the practical application of theory and knowledge to solve real world business problems. Candidates will generate practical solutions to the complex and dynamic challenges facing leaders, executive decision-makers, and managers of both people and processes in today’s environment of global change. Consistent with Walsh’s tradition of providing a strong business education rich in practice, applied research and relevant theory, candidates will be able to apply the business and leadership best practices learned at work while completing the DBA program.

Walsh’s DBA is designed for working professionals, with a part-time pathway offered through a combination of online coursework and Zoom-enabled remote delivery. Connected classroom technology allows students to interact in real time with faculty and others in their cohort. On-campus engagement opportunities are also available for local students.

Walsh announces part-time DBA designed for working professionals

 

TROY, Mich., April 1, 2021— Walsh has introduced a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA), an intensive, part-time program designed for working professionals and comprised of online coursework, Zoom-enabled remote delivery and on-campus engagement opportunities to advance knowledge of business administration through applied research. The first cohort of students will be admitted in the fall 2021 semester beginning Sept. 15, 2021.

The DBA joins several new programs at the undergraduate and graduate level, graduate certificate and continuing education offerings to provide students a comprehensive portfolio of education options in business and technology.

“Walsh’s DBA program is designed for working professionals and taught by faculty with years of industry experience. Walsh College Names Jenny Tatsak, Ph.D., as Chair, Business Communications and Director of Executive Success Center

Walsh College has named Jenny Tatsak, Ph.D., as Chair, Business Communications, according to Michael A. Rinkus, DBA, interim executive vice president and chief academic officer.

In addition to her current role as Professor of Business Communications teaching undergraduate and graduate classes, Dr. Tatsak will now oversee the Business Communications Department and lead the Executive Success Center, including tutoring services, faculty workshops, and curriculum-driven programing, as well as professional development initiatives.

“Dr. Tatsak’s expertise in communication strategy supports the College’s expanded focus on developing the executive communication skills of our students” said Dr. Rinkus. “This focus extends to the Executive Success Center, where she will oversee initiatives designed to develop the skills necessary for professional and personal success of our students.”

Dr. Tatsak has extensive leadership communication experience as a senior strategist and primary spokesperson for municipal, statewide, regional, and national campaigns. She developed and enacted crisis communication and image restoration plans and served as a speech writer and media coach for on-camera interviews and debate preparation.

Dr. Tatsak earned a doctorate in communication, completed under the Edward Wise Dissertation Fellowship, from Wayne State University. She holds degrees from Eastern Michigan University, including a master’s in communication, a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Communication, with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science.
