Walsh College Streamlines Key Programs for Fall 2015 Semester

Walsh College has enhanced several of its undergraduate and graduate degree programs, and modified some admission requirements for the Fall 2015 semester in order to enrich student learning experiences and achievement.

Walsh College, a business education leader in southeast Michigan since 1922, has:

Changed the program admissions requirement for the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) degree. Courses previously required prior to admission for the BSIT degree have now been moved to the professional core course requirements of the degree. They must be taken at the transfer institution prior to attendance or through concurrent enrollment

Streamlined the Master of Science in Taxation (MST) degree program. The MST program was updated to accomplish two major goals. One goal was to require certain key classes for tax professionals, rather than holding them as electives. The other goal was to remove the specializations, thus providing a well-rounded education in the field of taxation

Realigned the prerequisites and sequencing for classes in the “Graduate Gateway” programs, including the Master of Business Administration and the Master of Science in Management

“The changes underscore our commitment to delivering rigorous, respected academic programs in the most efficient and effective manner possible,” said David Shields, Ph.D., executive vice president and chief academic officer. “Our students, area employers, and the community expect the quality and relevance that are hallmarks of a Walsh education.”

Undergraduate programs offered at Walsh include Bachelor of Accountancy, Bachelor of Business Administration with majors in Accounting Processes, Finance, General Business, Management, Marketing; and a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology.

Graduate programs include Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Science in Accountancy (MAC), Master of Science in Finance (MSF), Master of Science in Information Technology (MSIT), Master of Science in Information Technology Leadership (MSITL), Master of Science in Management (MSM), Master of Science in Marketing (MSMKT), and Master of Science in Taxation (MST).

Dual-degree options include MBA/MSF, MBA/MSITL, MBA/MSM, and MBA/MSMKT.

Registration for the Fall 2015 semester is now underway. Classes begin on Wednesday, September 23. Learn more by contacting admissions/academic advising at 1-800-WALSH-01 or admissions@walshcollege.edu.
